Najah : Training and entrepreneurship support for young people

Atelier de formation pour les formateurs, Maroc

Context

Young people with few or no qualifications are the most marginalized segment of the population, with 31.2% of Moroccans aged between 15 and 24 unemployed, reaching 45.3% in urban areas. In this context, there is an urgent need to step up activities for young people with no qualifications, particularly young girls, for whom training and employment opportunities are virtually non-existent.

Activities

The mission of 100% Mamans is to defend and promote the dignity and full exercise of the human rights of single mothers and their children. It does so through emergency shelter and social, health, legal and professional support. L’Heure Joyeuse provides training in ironwork and supports the socioeconomic integration of young people. Al Karam works with young people in street or highly vulnerable situations, providing them with educational support and access to schooling.

The Najah project aims to contribute to the socioeconomic integration of young Moroccans. To this end, it develops innovative training and integration systems through short courses and business support for young people with a view to self-employment. At the end of the training, some young people receive a grant to start their own businesses. One of the characteristics of this support is the placement, monitoring and follow-up of the young people throughout their journey to lasting employment or self-employment. Once their business is launched, young people receive follow-up visits and have the opportunity to participate in thematic workshops and networking activities. The project also supports organizations promoting the professional integration of young people with little chance of employment.
