Training for young mothers in Bamako: welcome to the new 2021 class !

At the beginning of this year, our local partner in Mali, the Association Jeunesse et Développement du Mali (AJDM) welcomes a new class! Based in Bamako, the AJDM accommodates vulnerable young mothers aged between 15 and 25 years old and support them in building their professional future, through various professional trainings.

This year, the AJDM welcomes 30 young apprentices! In the last few weeks, 4 girls have started their training in catering, 13 are training in sewing and 13 are learning tattooing techniques. Throughout the year, the apprentices will benefit from individual support in order to develop a life project and will be supported in launching their professional project at the end of their training.

Through our program in Mali, we offer accommodation to the girls and their children, which are taken care of during the day by nannies in order to allow the young mothers to practice. At the end of the first trimester, the construction of the new accommodation center will be completed to welcome all the girls and their children!

We look forward to the inauguration of the new center and we welcome the girls and their children. We wish them a year full of learning and possibilities!
