The position holder reports directly to the Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy and will work in close collaboration with the fundraising team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the fundraising strategy in French-speaking Switzerland (donor foundations, companies, public funds and individual donors) ;
- Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with existing partners; ensure follow-up, reporting and regular, high-quality communication ;
- Identify new prospects in French-speaking Switzerland to support the Foundation’s international programme and Swiss projects, and conduct in-depth research on them ;
- Manage and update prospect lists; develop detailed profiles and ensure data quality in the management database ;
- Draft and submit funding proposals, narrative and financial reports for all projects (Africa, Asia, Latin America and Switzerland) ;
- Negotiate and conclude funding agreements with new partners, ensuring their expectations are aligned with the Foundation’s priorities ;
- Handle administrative tasks related to fundraising (thank-you letters, tax certificates, invoices, etc.) ;
- The position holder may be required to carry out other tasks as needed, in particular for targeted donor communications.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in management, marketing or communications, development or another relevant discipline ;
- Interest in development issues, international cooperation for children and young people in difficulty ;
- Flexibility in carrying out tasks typical of a small team (10–12 people) ;
- Strong organisational skills, ability to work in a systematic and autonomous manner while communicating regularly both internally and externally ;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to relationships ;
- Ability to synthesise information and present it effectively ;
- Required languages: French (very good level / or native language), excellent command of spoken and written English, German and/or Italian are an asset ;
- IT skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel ;
- First job or 1 year of experience in fundraising or in the non-governmental organisation sector, working with private donors or donor foundations in Switzerland ;
