The FAAI elects a new president

On Thursday 30 March, Jean-Paul Faugère was elected President of the Fondation Apprentis d'Auteuil International (FAAI).

He succeeds Jean-Paul Redouin who represented the Foundation for six years. Jean-Paul Faugère has a double experience in the business, with the insurance sector and in the public service.

What motivates you most in becoming President of the FAAI?

That children and young people in difficulty can look to their future with confidence is possible. The misery and injuries that strike lives at their beginning is unfair and even shocking. Reacting is an imperative everywhere in the world. The FAAI, with the support of the Fondation Apprentis d'Auteuil, which has over 150 years of experience in this field, implements concrete projects. It carries the voice of children for a more human world. It shares with us the freshness of their smile.

In your opinion, what are the main difficulties young people face in integrating into society?

Education and vocational training are priority investments so that all young people can take their place in society. But we cannot neglect the individual support necessary to young people. Of course, families must play the leading role. But because of the history of some young people or the aggressive environment in which some of them grow up, it is also necessary to remove the "peripheral obstacles" that prevent them from progressing (difficulties with housing, mobility, access to healthcare, etc.) and to know how to build confidence around them so that their natural dynamism can be expressed.

The human quality of the support given to children and young people is of great importance in the projects we select.

The FAAI warmly thanks Jean-Paul Redouin for his unfailing commitment to young people and families in vulnerable situations during his two mandates. His unfailing support for the Foundation's activities was greatly appreciated.

The FAAI welcomes the election of the new President Jean-Paul Faugère and wishes him every success in his activities.
