Vocational training centre for young mothers in Douala

This vocational training centre offers support and training to extremely poor young mothers from rural areas arriving in the district of Nyalla.

Training courses include sewing, hairdressing and pottery. In addition to the training, the girl’s basic needs are addressed such as food and shelter and medical and psychological support.  Awareness raising on subjects such as hygiene, health and parenting skills is proposed to the young mothers through group workshops.

Project objectives:

  • Social economic integration of young mothers
  • Improve the quality of training offered at the vocational training centre
  • Offer training to young mothers (equality)
  • Support young mothers in finding their economic independence
