Training and professional integration for vulnerable young mothers in Bamako
The unstable political situation in Mali has provoked mass rural exodus including young girls leaving home and heading to urban centres in search of work. Accepting the first work they can find, they are often exploited by their employer and may end up pregnant and without the support of their family.
This project supports these young girls in difficulty offering them comprehensive care and support (food, medical and psychological support), helps them reconnect with their family and offers vocational training and individual support.
- Offer safety and financial security to young mothers and their children until they return to their family
- Ensure the young mothers long-term professional and social reintegration and autonomy
- Increase awareness amongst families, local authorities and health centres about the precarious situation of young mothers
- Build local partner capacity (organization and operations)
